This blog is abut the Tempe Town Lake, and homes in the area.
About the Lake: If you are new to the area, or don’t know that much about the lake, it is actually the Salt River. Years back before they made the dams up stream, the Salt river ran year round.
Four major dams hold back the waters of the Salt for two main reasons. One for Hydro electro power. Two irrigation. A third reason in terms of function is boating and fishing.
The new dam is made of rubber bladders. Initially they were installed with a 30 year life expectancy. The dam failed in 2011 after only a few years.
The lake now creates a large amount of activities.
Boating, Fishing,Segway tours….ect.
